These are the words that the Instagram team used a few days ago, less than a month after the launch of Reels, to present another important news (already active). Thus, the social network may request accounts considered fraudulent, identity cards or other documents from those who manage them.
Since Zuckerberg bought Instagram in 2012, a lot of water has gone under the bridge, and a social network that at the time was considered a niche for amateur photographers, in a short time saw its users multiply. Unfortunately, as we well know, not all accounts are managed by real people, but often this happens through following/unfollowing practices or seeing "weird" accounts with two pictures and thousands of followers.
